Disneyland Paris run weekend

Table of contents

Have you seen that walk around the block by now? Or are you a little bored of the trees in the park where you walk around every day? Then there’s good news. Because next month, Disneyland Paris is once again hosting a run weekend from Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Sept. 22. Thanks to the overwhelming success of the previous editions, it is now already the fourth edition of this popular event. An absolute must for true Disney fans.

An unforgettable experience for true sports fans

Whether you will run with big white gloves, a diadem with ears of Mickey or Pluto … that is your choice. But it will definitely be an adventure on which everyone will have fun. There is certainly something for everyone. For example, there is the Kids Run. These are races for children ages 1 to 3 (100 meters), children ages 4 to 7 (200 meters) and children ages 8 to 12 (1 km).

In addition, there is the Family Fun Race. This race you run at night, while at dusk you can enjoy the magical lights of the castle, shops and attractions. The course is 5 km long and children are also allowed to participate. Can it be just a little more challenging for you? Then you can try to run the 10 km route. Here, too, children are allowed to put their best foot forward. Finally, there is the half marathon for real diehards and runaholics.

Disney characters as enthusiastic supporters

That it will be no ordinary running race goes without saying. No matter how many miles you want to run, it’s always nice when there are some loyal supporters on the sidelines cheering you on, cheering you on and jumping happily in the air as you pass. But it all becomes just that little bit more special when you are encouraged by none other than Micky Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofie, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Elsa, Olaf, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet or Tigger. Bet your stamina gets a little better then?

Disneyland Paris does everything possible to make it a special event. During the run, you will not only enjoy the exercise itself, but also the music and the fantastic course between the different attractions. So you run through the parks, past the Disney hotels, Disney Village and Val d’Europe. Kids participating in the Kids Run run around Lake Disney. Do you finish the race? Then you get a real medal, with a Disney character on it. Don’t take your finishing time or the finish line too seriously? Then, between runs, you can have your picture taken with your favorite Disney character.

Prepare for fantastic results

That anyone, of any age, may run is a fact. But unfortunately you never know if you will be able to finish the race. And even if you will: whether you will not sustain painful injuries. But how can you avoid that? How do you know when you are well prepared?

Condition

Proper preparation is different for everyone. Are you used to running 10 to 15 kilometers regularly? Then it is perfectly possible that in a few weeks you will be able to run the 20 km effortlessly. Have you yet to purchase a pair of running shoes and have no idea how to get started? Then such a half marathon next month is definitely a pipe dream. Still, count on a year of preparation and build everything up steadily. From 5 min, to 15 min, 45 min, an hour, and so on.

Suitable shoes

Just because your walking shoes are comfortable doesn’t mean you can easily walk in them. Good walking shoes are an absolute must. More than that, every foot is different. Are you really an avid runner? Then you would do well to have the size of your foot measured by experts at a sports center. They know exactly which areas of your foot you put the most pressure on and therefore where you need the most support.

The right nutrition

Although such a Disneyland Paris run weekend may ask a lot of your whole body, it will be your feet, in particular, that will have to do the work. Therefore, it is important to choose nutrients that your feet need. In our previous blog, you already read that vitamin D and calcium are essential for the health of your feet. Some marathon runners also eat something small during the race: a piece of fruit, a handful of raisins or a healthy snack. This is something each person must decide for themselves. Of course, it is appropriate to test this out during your training and not at the time of the race itself. Drinking water is wise.

Pamper yourself after the Disneyland Paris run weekend

Did you finish the race? Nice! Didn’t make it? No problem either. You did it anyway! Medal or not: you deserved a reward. Don’t forget to pamper your feet. After all, they had to carry you for quite a few kilometers. The footbath Sport® or Shoe Deo® in your sports shoes can do wonders.
